Helena

Helena is the product of a cloning project and was born around 1984. Her birth mother, Amelia, was apparently approached by scientists posing as a couple who needed a surrogate mother to deliver their child via in-vitro fertilization. Realizing that the children in her were special and possibly in danger, Amelia ran and delivered twins: Helena and Sarah. Unable to provide for them and knowing the danger the children were in, she gave them away. Sarah became an orphan and was eventually taken in by Mrs. S, while Helena was given to a convent in Ukraine. Eventually, when she was 12, Helena was found by Tomas and Maggie Chen. Under their tutelage, Helena was told about the other clones then led to believe that she was the original among them. She was harshly trained to be a killer, particularly a killer of her clones. In Europe, she was able to hunt down and kill three clones: Janika Zingler, Aryanna Giordano, and Danielle Fournier. She also found Katja Obinger, who then traveled to Canada. She and her mentors followed her there, where they found other clones. Helena is trained as an assassin but is also psychotic and has childlike mannerisms. She loves eating candy and chocolate. Her dream is to eventually be normal and have babies like a normal woman, but is often taken advantage of by others.

Benjamin Kertland

Little info, if anything, is known about Benjamin Kertland except that he is a dear friend of Siobhan's, acting as her bodyguard and also protecting her family and companions whenever they need it. His mugshot is seen on Rachael's laptop in Season 2, implying that he has been involved with some sort of organized criminal activity in the past although it is never revealed whether he is a convicted felon or not. He is from the United Kingdom presumably. At first he is thought to be a child abductor but this later turns out to be a clever setup to get both Sarah and Kira to Siobhan without being followed. Sarah tries to beat him up initially after he wields a knife (not to harm her but to cut the ties from her hands that were used to restrain her) but Siobhan puts a stop to it and informs Sarah that he isn't dangerous. After getting into his car in Toronto, Siobhan idly threatened to kill him if he were ever disloyal to her after she killed the traitorous Birdwatchers, but she does care about him and often thanks him for his services, even affectionately hugging him in one episode after he offers to transport Kira to a safe house by transfer truck. He was revealed to be a possible traitor who helped Kira get stolen from a hospital, but this turned out to be false as he is completely loyal to Siobhan. Benjamin is very reliable and helpful despite his at times sneaky and quiet methods and creepy demeanor. Sarah initially thought he was weird and possibly not trustworthy and is often what Benjamin describes as "stroppy" to him (telling him to "bugger off", snapping and yelling at him rudely, accusing him of things he has no part in), but by Season 4 she eventually grew to like him and regard him as a close friend herself. In 'The Scandal of Altruism', when Ira tries to commit suicide by overdosing on pills, Benjamin saves his life by calling 911. Benjamin often wears drab clothing, has overlong dark brown hair, a British accent, a thin face and large eyes. He has no apparent family or relations but he is considered by Siobhan to be a valued member of her own "family" of trusted allies. Benjamin is portrayed by Canadian-British actor Julian Richings (Supernatural, Patch Town, The Rainbow Kid).

Sarah Manning

Sarah Manning is an orphan from Britain who is known for being street-smart, intelligent and a fan of punk rock. She is also a clone, but grew up not knowing this. Her foster mother, Siobhan, is estranged from her in Season 1 but they eventually reconnect over Kira, Sarah's young daughter. Sarah has a close network of friends and family including Siobhan, Kira, Benjamin Kertland, Felix Dawkins, Cosima Neihaus and Kendall Malone. Siobhan and Kendall know a lot more about the cloning project than Sarah initially realizes. Sarah was born in 1984 and her real mother's name is Amelia. Her psychotic "sister", Helena, has tried to kill her on multiple occasions. Both Sarah and Kira are constantly pursued by the Dyad Institute for genetic testing, but Sarah is unwilling to let her daughter grow up being a guinea pig, and often lives in derelict, secluded buildings and safe houses with her in order to protect her. Sarah can be reckless and short-tempered at times but is often level-headed and quick to come up with new solutions. She had a boyfriend (Kira's dad) and they eventually reunite and drive through rural Canada in a camper. Her main goal was always to find a better life for Felix (her foster brother) and Kira, but her priorities shift when she discovers that she is not the only surviving clone in the world. Sarah has dark brown hair, often dresses in black and rarely wears skirts or dresses, instead opting for black skinny jeans most of the time. She is played by actress Tatiana Maslany.
